I thought a happy medium was to have it be a 2 mode vehical. it basically shifts ite legs and arms to give it a smaller profile, but then i'm told that not enough of a Tranformation to count as "Transformable"... Tommy's "Canon" comic lines have it with a unseen Guardian...

The Condor wasn't shown to transform in the anime, nor was it hinted at that it did. I am also unaware of a OSM art showing different modes. Getting bent over something never shown, hinted (or the like) to transform seems somewhat disingenuous. Claiming he made something up while your own position is as well smacks of hypocrisy. YMMV.

well, Tommy further cover his ass with the Pasrts cominality issue, via the fact he had Palladium make the Condor 40ft tall....

whast truely funny is, he made the "silverback" transform, but not the Condor... even thou the Silverback IIRc is never shown in its transformed stage in the comics.

I never got the hub-bub over the Condor. The anime doesn't show it transform and you can't even find art that shows it (as far as I know) other than fan stuff.

Well it does describe the origional attempt at a variable model running into problems with cost overruns before they could make it a working model.

The Beta just got totally shelved by the same problems - until another decade or so of technological advance made it posible.

I have been looking over the RPG information concerning the Condor. The one printed is definitely a Battloid, but they did leave enough room there to possibly toss in a Transformable (limited production run) version of one. It may have less armor, and not fly very fast compared to the Beta. But they don't exactly explain why it was a failure. Maybe it was supposed to be a Booster to the Alpha and they could not get it worked out right (the nose doesn't flip down?).

Heard the Palladium guys gonna stick with Condor Battloid originated from failed 'VF program', & they referred with HG regarding Condor non-trasformable status.

Well, guess I've to entertain the Super Condor as the alternative dual mode VF (in tradition of Logan).

Which piece of OSM says it's transformable? I went through everything BRL posted with my friends (native speakers) and we didn't find anything that indicated it transformed. No mention of "henkei" (transformation).

I remember the seeing the lineart of the transformable condor back in '03 when Tommy would hang out with the fans. He passed it around and I remember someone (won't say who) taking a photos of it with a cell phone cam.

OK, using that explanation, would you use a propeller plane to fight against a F-15, F-18, or F-22? Granted, we do use A-10s in today's combat, but the alpha can serve the same role as the Condor, with more functionality. Against an enemy like the Invid, speed and the functionality of the multi-purpose alpha makes sense, a non-transformable Condor, doesn't.
