Last month, I used Revell's customer feedback form to ask them about a matter unrelated to Robotech. They responded very nicely to me.
Tonight, I recontacted them by e-mail suggesting a 25th Anniversary re-issue of Robotech for 2010/'11.

We'll see where this goes.

be pretty minimal.

And by the way, most American hobbyists don't know the Japanese names or where these pieces came from, or even where to look to find the information. Or
they know them by the Battletech names only. An American import revival can help matters, and benefit if the live-action movie makes it to theaters
next year.

You're preaching to the choirmaster, buddy. But some of the ones they want haven't been issued since the TV series. ARII's 1/72nd Glaug and
Destroids. The ARII Orguss kits. Takara's 1/72nd Dougram robots and vehicles. The molds are probably out there but who knows for sure?

They're not looking in the right places. Those kits have been reissued for years in Japan and are very easy to get. And super cheap, like a dollar or two
via Yahoo Japan Auctions. Where would these Robotech kits be sold to make the numbers worthwhile for Revell? The only places I see models these days are in
crafts stores. Nothing in Toys R Us, Wal-Mart or Target.

Which is why I said "next year", not this one. And there is plenty of interest. Just this month, I was in a forum of scale model builders and they
were telling me how hard to find the old mech models are now and how high the prices are on eBay for them.

If I were Revell, I wouldn't bother. First you'd have to get a license from Harmony Gold, then you'd have to convince the owners of the Japanese
tooling (Bandai and possibly Aoshima) to produce more kits for you, and then you'd have to get American model makers excited enough to buy them (right now
the domestic hobby market is really suffering).
