I thought there was a little too much humor. The two side-kick bots were a bad racial sterotype...

All said, still enjoyed it. Of the three sci-fis I've see this summer I think I'd rate it behind Star Trek and Terminator.

No, they looked at Jordan from the Pyramids, they drove from Egypt to Jordan crossing through only one border crossing. There was no story reason for them to do so.

It was more than a time constraint, for whatever reason, the director decided Israel (and the Sinai) didn't exist.

Sideswipe and Sunstreaker both bore little resemblance to "The Twins" though. I'm not sure if the Swipe/Streaker relationship was a physical or emotional "brotherhood," whereas most of the supplimental material for Skids & Mudflap seems to indicate that they were one Spark that divided into two robots.

Mixmaster, Scrapper (I think) and Long Haul also received "movie" versions. I'm not sure how many of the other Constructicons held G1 names...

There were definitely no shortage of continuity errors in the film.

There was a pair of autobot twins back in the old series, Sideswipe and Sunstreaker.

My only complaints were

1. the strange, avoidable glitches to where both the destroyed carrier and the one from the end of the movie, BOTH showed both 71 & 74 deck & tower numbers, back and forth, from scene to scene.
2. Location jumps for no reason (wasn't Skyfire in DC, then went out the door into a desert? Petra and Cairo were made WAY too close together. And ,you could see the mountains in the background of the "Diego Garcia" scenes - something with...

I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great fighting. Great special effects. And the story was preaty good too. And I think it is a great example of MDC fighting.

Oh it was horrible movie by any standard of artistic endeavor.

However for a pure popcorn crunching, brain blasting, special effects thrill ride . . . yeah, it kicked ass.

Hope you both enjoy it. I did. It wasn't a perfect film - but WHEE GIANT ROBOTS!! ^_^

I will admit to being shocked by some of the reaction online. I mean, in some cases, it's like "reviewers" didn't even see the same movie. And, of course, then there's the content complaints which flabbergast me. I never thought I'd see the day when "The Internet" was offended at something. Heh.

No topic yet? I'm surely not the only one who has seen it, right? ^_^

I thought the movie was good. It wasn't as strong as the first one - strike that: it was different. The first one was very much about the "magic" of seeing these living, transforming beings from another world; this one is more about seeing these living, transforming beings beating the snot out of each other.

My best advice: Ignore the reviews...
