This discussion inspired me to go find a working copy of the ps2 version as my Xbox version isn't backwards compatible on the 360. I'm somewhat pleased to say that after searching 3 cities I managed to track down a copy. I've found though the game is a lot MORE fun if you just ignore the abortion of a plot and just make up your own story while you're playing... __________________ They shall be my finest warriors, these men who give of themselves to me. Who goes to three cities to find Invasion!? Nah, its all good. I must've mentioned this before, but I go to my local convention hunting for Robotech and Macross stuff. I hear ya'. The lone Youtube gameplay looked like it had some so-so Cyclone-action gameplay, just ignore the whole idiotic "Halo-clone" word of mouth.

I would've skipped redoing ep. 85 and maybe did a brief recap of movie action outlining that episode. Then I would've stripped off the Sentinels stuff, and made room to rewrite the Sentinels different. The story is so convoluted now with how Sentinels isn't canon, but then it's characters are. Some stuff isn', but this is, and that is... I would've just done away with all of it. Then I would've focused on getting a better story together, I would've hired a professional, since the plot goes every which way but the right way, obviously they needed a professional to do this. Then I would've taken the project, and I would've had it done in Japan, by Tatsunoko to do. They may have been more expensive or may take longer, or whatever, but at least you could actually call it anime that way. With that, I would've personally signed off on character designs that looked more like the originals with minor tweeks. I wouldn't have ok'ed Aerial and the Regiss' breast sizes growing 3 sizes bigger. This would be anime, not a comic book. Then I would've hired all the people who worked on the original series to do the voice work for the project. For CG, I'd give the ships and the fighters a little weathering, maybe some battle damage. C'mon, didn't they just get out of the sentinels campaign? The CG would look more like drawn animation, and would resemble a true form of anime, not some imitation version of it. With all that put together, I think those are the issues that could've worked out a lot better. But they are supposedly still learning. Let's see how much they've learned in the second.

Private Posts: 14 (May 3, 2008 05:08 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite	I never read the novels/comics nor knew the existence of a Robotech movie nor a cancelled Sentinels series.. my version would have had the narrator telling the story with gray images as flashback for 4 minutes retelling what happened on NEW GEN while introducing Marcus and Alex and additional wolf squad characters.... THE MOVIE would then start with Scott Bernard flying on space for days, worried that there may not be any other RDF fleets out there... he then gets ambushed by some aliens (haydonites?) and it is then that he is salvaged by the Wolf Squadron (Commander Taylor & co) just as Scott runs out of ammo and missiles. a battered alpha is then taken to space station Aluce and the medics are taking Scott for a check up... Commander Taylor sees scotts badge (mars division).. "he's a survivor!" and then moments later Scott (in the hospital) is introduced to Capt. Grant.... Marcus hears on the Aluce news that there's a mars division survivor and hears the full name Scott bernard, and then rushes to see him... by the time Marcus arrives at the hospital scott is finished telling his story to Capt Grant and Commander Taylor... and then possibly Scott would join Wolf Squadron... then afterwards, some RDF troops would go settle on earth as a defensive force against enemy aliens (that would be the scene when Lancer, Ariel, Sera, Lunk and Annie are talking to the Shadow pilots about what happened) that would try to invade earth....there is a new wave of aliens wanting to attack earth --now that the invid departed... there are few shadow fighters out there and the only effective defense mecha that would go and fight these aliens using guerilla tactics would be from the Southern Cross... NEXT SCENE.... and then the mission to find Admiral hunter... etc etc etc... by the end of the movie a badly damaged SDF-3 is floating somewhere defending itself from the haydonites and other aliens... Max & Miriya sterling are fighting alongside, an older-wise Jack baker is also leading his x-squadron (Karen Penn on the control deck taking a role similiar to Claudia Grant) and then The wolf squadron with Capt Grants Armada finally arrive to the rescue..... SDF-3 had to many casualties that even Admiral Rick hunter went outside the ship to fight alongside his army but is injured and in the brink of being killed, but is rescued... then a scene of a resting Admiral hunter in the hospital saying that he will retire from the battlefield and asks Gen. Reinhardt to replace him on all operations and the Gen accepts. scott then would return to earth and finally declares his love for Ariel... and Marcus and his group of elite pilot-friends along with Maia just look scott's alpha leaving their ship... hinting that the NEW GEN finally closes and it's now for Marcus' generation to fill those shoes.... hence NEW SERIES coming in 2009 I think something like that I would have wanted to see.
