1. Animation "Error". More like an Animation Cameo than an error. The issue I have here is that it is animated differently 2/3 of the time (not sure about the 3rd). RobotechResearch lists 2 different pics that include the mecha, the uRRG states its in 3 episodes. Given the frequency, I'm not really inclined to this idea.
2. Treat it as a non-transformable Battloid (/Destroid) design. Only issue I have here is that other RT periods have 3 operational veritechs operating together except in TMS. I think they have plenty of NTBs.
3. Treat it as the Veritech it was in its orginal series. However HG might not have the rights to use those designs. It should be noted that the Revell Robotech Model line did include a transformable model that looks like the mecha in question (only with a different pait job). Weather they have the rights...
This would mean that this Veritech in question would have 4 modes (Fighter, Tank, Gaurdian, Battloid). Though I suppose one of the vehicle modes could be dropped. Maybe even create 2 lines for it, one Fighter and one tank.
This site has scans of the Revel Robotech line products: http://www.draddog.com/robotech/
4. Similiar to Option 3, we treat it as a Veritech. However HG would have to create new alt modes for it that differ from its OSM to avoid legal entagles if they can't get the rights. The question then becomes treat it as an aircraft or ground vehicle? (or a seperate families that looks identical in Battloid mode)
5. Go with the uRRG idea that it is just another add-on armor package for the VF-1. Personally I just don't see this idea working.
