Are the Invid Color blind? All views from their equipment/eyes view have been overcast in red with the only other color differentiation being teh denote protoculture power supplies. Would you agree or disagree that Invid have no concept of camouflage in the sense of hiding in plain site via coloring?

Uh, not quite. Grunt Invid mecha have red camera eyes, but ranking Invid mecha have blue camera eyes. Now, whether they percieve colour, no clue. But if the camera eyes are any indication, they see in 2/3rds of the Primary Colours. I would think that would indicate they aren't colour blind. Corporal Posts: 27 (January 12, 2009 02:00 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite	Yea, I am wondering how the invid themselves see the world, with or without equipment. I'm assuming from what I gleamed rewatching NG recently that they see in a kind of infrared that detects protoculture but that they might be more motion sensitive rather than color sensitive. it's fairly well documented that the Invid completely ignore fully functioning mecha and equipment as long as it is not powered one, which suggests to me that they don't have a frame of reference to know that said equipment still works, unlike a humanoid/slugoid invid, or a human in general that could see it's still functional. I'm not sure if this limitation is isolated to normal troopers or if commanders/guards might be better equipped/trained/evolved or what not, But I am curious as to what you guys think.

We don't know as we never see things from their perspective outside of their mecha except when they are humanoid. Regis appears to perceive color, atleast she projects images to the humans in color, if the rest of her race only sees that red scope view it would probably be annoying for her lol. Yea, he's a ranking Invid. However, there are other blue-eyed Invid from episodes after Corg was evolved into a human. However, its pretty evident that he is the ranking Invid Armoured Scout from Enter Marlene. The only mecha that I haven't found a blue camera eye for is the Protector Powered Armour. However, it appears that Platoon Leaders are coloured Green & Grey to distinguish from the grunt Blue & Grey units. I'm not sure, but I don't even think the Regent's red Protector's from The Sentinels have blue camera eyes to distinguish them from the others. Male/Female makes sense in my mind, thought caste/officer is entirely possible imo. And yea, I agree Human-form Invid must see in color, but I am wondering if the slug type/grunts do as well, or if they are restricted to the protoculture/red vision?
