One of the infantry sidearms has a heavy duty configuration that does 1D6x10 damage.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I have a habit of making "adjustments" for most Palladium books, Master's Saga has one of my longest lists of "adjustments" relative to pages in the book. That being said, I'd still rate it light years beyond the original ASC RPG and even that had infantry rifles that could out damage mecha gunpods.

They give you a little more in this book then they did in the original to work with role playing wise. Yeah, I can see what you mean by "inconsistancies" that's one reason I would rather use the background information and just port the game over to another system.
