After all, you were the one that was deliberately misrepresenting what I said (my references to water temperatures was to the Byrd Island in the Aleutians, and you acted like I was talking about the South China Sea).

Rtsurfer, myself and others (AlphaVT, various RRG members, etc.) that were in communication with Tom back when the changes were made by Tommy can vouch for me that the entire reason why the robotech.com timeline moved the events of those episodes TO the South China Sea, from the North Pacific, was BECAUSE after pointing out that the revised time of year made the events as depicted instantly lethal for Rick (not to mention making the splashdown party on the deck and announced outside weather conditions impossible). Something that had totally slipped Tommy's mind when he made the initial timeline changes. For a few weeks (if not months), the timeline had the events still off the Aleutians, in February, until that was brought up, and even then it took a couple weeks to convince Tommy - and instead of admitting that it was a bad idea to change the DATE (only ending up in February because the desire to match the DYRL retcon SDF-1 launch date), he went looking for a Byrd/Bird island ANYWHERE in the Pacific Rim that was warm - finally finding an obscure island off China that was NEVER called "Bird" in English, just that its name TRANSLATED to "Bird". Never mind that map names are never translated from their native language (converted to the equivalent roman letters for their sounds, for printing, and descriptors translated, like "Island" - but NOT the actual Proper Name component).

One change, forcing another due to creating untenable circumstances, forcing others, etc. - all when the timeline as originally presented had no such problem, and no need to be altered. What's so hard to understand?
