Private Posts: 1 (April 28, 2008 01:49 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite	Tags : southren, cross, robotech, masters I've been reading over at the Palladiumbooks forums about this Royal treatment Palladium is giving the "Masters Era" source book. I'm worried that some if not all of the statistical errors from the Old version of the era book will remain. Jason Marker(aka Gidieon) is the Author, and his Views on robotech kinda tow the Line of "What even Lord Tommy says" and I've heard some of TY's Views on the ASC era or the Show. I know that ASC fans are used to being steped on, and I want this to not be another time when the Middle Chapeter of Robotech gets Shit on by Hg/Palladium. I'm wondering if any other SC fans are willing to step up an be heard by Palladium about this.

Palladium seens to go out of their way to prevent disagrements with you folks. I wish i felt the same way, Palladium's become the sock-puppet for Tommy yunn, Kevin basically is of the opinion that print exactly what tommy wants. Thats fine and All, but claim to sell us a "royal" treatment, while selling us a repackages Turd like that last book. Reading through the tSC book, you can tell they Didnt pay attention to a 90 min Movie to get details correct, I dotn expect them to get much Right in the 500+ minutes of Animation for Southren Cross. and Brook/Rabid is right, Defic Enema/NMI seams go out of his way to over moderate certian posters, while allowing others to flamebait and attack freely. and I get Labled a ASC fan, even thou my sign-on is a New Gen Character, I freely admit i Like New Gen more then the ASC era, but because i dislike Macross, I'm automatically a "ASC-fan",and by the god's i'm insane to think Leonard isnt Evil, while thinking Hunter is Callous for ordering the destruction of the Earth. He does seem to go out of his way it seems, of course it is him allowing your own style of flaimbaiting and the like that I was pointing out. It seems everytime you, and yours, start getting taken to task someone slips and locks the thread stopping it. Heck, one of the most vicious posters on that forum is RSCF. He shows nothing but utter contempt for those not sharing his views. I dont purposfullt try to get Flamewars started, other posters know how to Dance past the rules and get others to flame, Orilliriy for one never says anything himself, just twists what others say, or puts word in thrie mouths. Emema/NMI lets that shit go time and time again. Brook/RSCF is a Rabid poster, he defends his views, I've worked on geting him not to be so visious, the more we have backed off in recent years, the more Enema/NMI seams to tighten his noose on the posters. the Shit i do today is nthing compared to how bad I was 3-4 years ago. and RSCf is being Stalked by Orilyirorl... who has moved through 3 diffrent forums, and 98% of his replies are toward RSCF or myself over at Palladium. Anyone have any actual numbers to provide to show the success or failure of the items you listed? While I think TSC was mediocre, mainly due to lack of story, it had to be something other than a failure. It seems highly unlikely they would commit to making a new movie if the hadn't been somewhat successful. I wonder if some define "success" as a run-away hit, and not the more business-like "did it make money". DC/Wildstorm had published Numbers for the Declining Comics sales... I Imagine Shadow chronicles Made Money, its nearly inmpossible to lose money when dealing with this small of an opperation. Just getting the Units on to Walmarts shelves mean Walmart bought 50-100 Thousand Copies. RTsurfer in the Past has Found Sales Records for the Robotech/Wildstorm Comics... where the comics started at 55,000+ sales with the "from the stars" storyline... to under 20,000 with "Love and war" Cavscout is a Fag, he Molests Children, Love the big cock. Fleet Admiral Posts: 2038 (April 30, 2008 03:00 PM) Fleet Admiral Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite	The last Robotech comic sold just over 8200 copies. 55k down to 8k is a very significant decline, and IIRC the initial sales numbers were comparable to Transformer sales at the time and showed there was a potential readership out there. Lowell/alphavt and I were tracking the numbers as the comic were released and even got pretty good at calculating the next comic's decline lol. We actually did some pretty indepth comparisons to other 80's based/similar genre comics at the time. RT's numbers consistantly nose dived while the others remained relatively unchanged or had a much less dramatic decline over the same time period. At one point right before I became inactive in the fandom I made a comment (something to the effect of) that only the original series DVD's, the Battlecry game, and I think one other thing but can't recall what it was had made any kind of real money. Obviously RT makes money or they wouldn't keep selling the products but they make niche money, very rarely do they get anywhere near mainstream sales. At that time I don't believe any of the projects Tommy was responsible for or significantly involved in fell into that mainstream categorization. From what I've read I'd say RTSC sold pretty well, but I have to wonder how well the sequel will do. Personally I wasn't impressed, wasn't horrible but wasn't all that good either, and like many of you bought a copy to find that out lol. I suspect the sales were being driven by a number of factors... rt fans checking it out or adding it to their collections, anime fans curious what robotech had become or picking up the latest anime release, and casual rt fans from the 80's/90's making an impulse buy when they saw it on the shelf at mainstream stores like Wal-Mart.
