Never mind that the remastered DVDs in the PC aren't Robotech....

"One should always be wary of a scientist speaking out of his narrow field, or those invoking their name outside their fields. Scientists are human too, and are just as prone to cling to 'causes', just or frivolous, as the rest of our species." - Dr. Peter Wykoff Walker, 11 Sept 1997, rec.arts.sf.tv.babylon5.moderated |

This is bullshit! Why does ADV just discontinue stuff for no reason? They also discontinued their DVDs of the syndicated Street Fighter cartoon. Why do
companies do this for no good reason whatsoever?

One word: Money
It may not cost a lot of money to have the data stored ready to be produced on demand. But I am sure it costs them money to keep the license. It costs money to keep the DVD's stored in a warehouse for shipment. It is the same reason why Books start to slide off the shelves into oblivion. If there is no interest for more, they are not going to keep it on their shelves. If stores do not keep the books on their shelves, there is no need to have a warehouse full of books. If you don't need the warehouse, then why are you printing. you get the idea. And who knows - it is quite possible that the big movie companies are starting to throw their weight around for the new Robotech Movie. This may mean they want to reproduce the DVD's and sell them. And if that is the case, then they could end up being better produced on not as many discs. I am a fan of ADV, but the fact that they can't put more than 2 hours on a DVD blows chunks! Especially when a season of 22 to 23 45 minute shows takes around 10 or 11 discs!

It's still bullshit, because their Robotech DVDs are some of their biggest selling projects.
