I'm surely not the only one who has seen it, right? ^_^ I thought the movie was good. It wasn't as strong as the first one - strike that: it was different. The first one was very much about the "magic" of seeing these living, transforming beings from another world; this one is more about seeing these living, transforming beings beating the snot out of each other. My best advice: Ignore the reviews and go see it yourself. If you liked the first, you'll probably like the second. ~Pap. Kote Darasuum

It wasn't a perfect film - but WHEE GIANT ROBOTS!! ^_^ I will admit to being shocked by some of the reaction online. I mean, in some cases, it's like "reviewers" didn't even see the same movie. However for a pure popcorn crunching, brain blasting, special effects thrill ride . . . yeah, it kicked ass.

Fleet Admiral Posts: 2176 (July 5, 2009 02:43 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite	My only complaints were 1. the strange, avoidable glitches to where both the destroyed carrier and the one from the end of the movie, BOTH showed both 71 & 74 deck & tower numbers, back and forth, from scene to scene. 2. Location jumps for no reason (wasn't Skyfire in DC, then went out the door into a desert? Petra and Cairo were made WAY too close together. And ,you could see the mountains in the background of the "Diego Garcia" scenes - something with the tech used for the bots, they could have EASILY fixed in their spare time.) other than those nitpicks, loved it. I especially loved how close Skyfire's origin was in a number of respects to the original series. Did those two redneck autobots have counterparts in animated versions? And, besides ArCee, who else did you all notice in terms of "new"old bots being introduced? I'm not sure if the Swipe/Streaker relationship was a physical or emotional "brotherhood," whereas most of the supplimental material for Skids & Mudflap seems to indicate that they were one Spark that divided into two robots. Mixmaster, Scrapper (I think) and Long Haul also received "movie" versions. I'm not sure how many of the other Constructicons held G1 names or were the more "recent" additions (like HighTower and Demolisher, err, "Mister Scoops") made due to rights-loss. "Alice" was a throwback to the Pretenders. Can't quite remember if "The Rebirth" covered those, or if they were strictly comic (US) or Japan-only (animation). Springer was supposed to be in there, but got cut (like Arcee from the first film). Bas: the Jetfire intro was a little murky. Either the Bay-verse has different geophysical locations, Jetfire opened up a mini space-bridge, or it was an editing mistake. Probably an editing mistake. Heh. ~Pap. Kote Darasuum

There was no story reason for them to do so. It was more than a time constraint, for whatever reason, the director decided Israel (and the Sinai) didn't exist.

The two side-kick bots were a bad racial sterotype... All said, still enjoyed it. Of the three sci-fis I've see this summer I think I'd rate it behind Star Trek and Terminator.
